The Fatal Marshall Scandal: The Corporate Sale That Silenced Britain’s Loudest Music Empire
I remember the 80's when I was playing a JCM100 halfstack. I had only one sound, but it was THE sound: Rock! Then came the 90' and I switched to the Jubillee Series 50/25 and 100/50. More versatile but still the rock-tone I always loved. Then, shortly after, I came upon a German manufacturer named Reußenzehn and played his 100W heads through a half cabinet. It was a bit like going back to the 80's with only one tone but this time it was even more Marshall than the original (if that makes sence). For ten years Marshall was my go-to for playing rock-music. Then everything changed and I shifted to Boogie Amps because they were more versatile. Later a good friend of mine brought me to a wisdom. There are only three amps you need, he said: Fender for clean, VOX for crunch and Marshall for the real thing. I've been playing modelers since twenty years now but nothing can replace a real Marshall. Kemper comes very close but it's still not the real thing: That wall of sound which moves the air and makes your heart skip a beat. Marshall forever!
